A Milwaukee woman has been sentenced to a stiff 15-year term in federal prison for her involvement in creating and distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin reports that Chasity Evans, a 38-year-old resident of Milwaukee and Ripley, Tennessee, was convicted and sentenced by U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman last Tuesday, for offenses related to the production of CSAM.

According to the Department of Justice's statement, Evans's criminal activities took place between February and June of 2023. During this period, she used a minor child to create child pornography and sold the material to a co-defendant through cell phone transactions, receiving payments via Cash App. The DOJ highlighted that the child was aged 11 to 12 at the time the CSAM was produced.

Once Evans has completed her prison sentence, she will face an additional five years of supervised release as part of her punishment. Furthermore, she will be required to register as a sex offender, as mandated by both state and federal laws. The grave nature of these crimes against children is reflected in the stringent measures imposed upon her release.

The case against Evans was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's field offices in Milwaukee and Memphis, with assistance provided by the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office. Lead prosecutor Assistant United States Attorney Abbey M. Marzick leveraged the evidence collected to ensure that justice was served in this disturbing case.
