Two new restaurants, Buffalo Wild Wings and Wu Tang Asian Kitchen, are set to open in Concourse B at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, replacing the previously planned Slutty Vegan location. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the decision follows challenges faced by the Slutty Vegan chain.
Slutty Vegan, founded by Aisha "Pinky" Cole, had secured a spot at the airport in 2023. However, FOX 5 Atlanta reports that company restructuring and Cole temporarily losing control of the business led to the concept being withdrawn.
Cole, who once operated 14 locations in four states, has since reduced operations to five restaurants. As reported by 11Alive, she recently launched a new vegan brand called Voagies. In an interview with Forbes, Cole explained that she had surrendered ownership through "an assignment for the benefit of creditors” but later regained control within six weeks.
The new Buffalo Wild Wings location will be the chain’s second at the airport, joining one in Concourse D. Wu Tang Asian Kitchen, described as an Asian-Southern fusion restaurant, is being developed by Atlanta chefs Jason McClure and Maximilian Hines, known for their collaboration on local pop-ups.
The new eateries are scheduled to open in December. A spokesperson for the airport told 11Alive, “Delaware North’s original concept for Slutty Vegan has been withdrawn. We are reviewing new requests and will work with the concessionaire to make the best decision for our passengers.”
