New Orleans law enforcement is on the lookout for a suspect involved in a series of financial crimes, including fraud, and identity theft. The New Orleans Police Department has reached out to the community seeking assistance in locating Jari Lestae Williams, who is accused of using a victim's personal information to obtain a fraudulent ID and carry out financial misdeeds.

The suspect, described as a Black female born on February 26, 1991, with a height of 5' 1" and weighing 130 pounds, was last known to reside in Gretna, LA. NOPD's report states, "Jari Lestae Williams was able to obtain false identification via successfully impersonating the victim, thus obtaining apparently legitimate ID bearing her photo and the victim's information." The crimes she's associated with involve forging identification documents and illegal monetary transactions. Williams is believed to be still at large with the fraudulent documents in her possession.

Williams allegedly began her illicit activities around December 18, 2024. Since then, she has used the fraudulent identification to represent herself as the victim, gaining access to financial resources and facilities by presenting the fake ID card accompanied by the victim's social security number.

The NOPD has issued a warning that Williams may attempt to use the fraudulent identification if asked for proof of identity, and advises vigilance. Community members with any information regarding Williams' whereabouts or her activities are urged to reach out to the authorities immediately.
