The Attorney General of Oklahoma, Gentner Drummond, recently broadened the scope of the state's most urgent manhunt by adding a new name to the infamous 10 Most Wanted list—an accused murderer, Heather Lynn Harjo. Harjo, age 38, is wanted in connection with the death of 21-year-old Summer Cheyenne Martin, following a violent episode in Ada, Oklahoma, earlier this year, according to the official news release from the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office.
Investigators outline that the confrontation leading to Martin's death on April 28 escalated from a verbal argument to a deadly finish between the women; Martin, whilst visiting a friend, encountered Harjo and a male companion where an altercation broke out with attempts of violence by Martin involving a power tool, however, that attack was halted by a bystander—Harjo then turned the heated spat fatal by allegedly shooting Martin and fleeing the scene, as was detailed by police statements.
The Attorney General Drummond expressed the utility and significance of the Most Wanted list in his quest to take offenders off the streets. "It is our hope that Oklahomans can help lead to the capture of this dangerous individual," Drummond said, according to the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office.
Harjo, a fugitive with multiple aliases such as Heather Thompson and Heather Lynn Brown, should be regarded as dangerous, and with the assistance of the Eastern District U.S. Marshal's Task Force, Drummond aims to curtail the threat she poses by leveraging the 10 Most Wanted program which has been successfully operational since September 2024, leading to the capture of 12 fugitives charged with severe crimes like murder, rape, and drug trafficking among other heinous offenses.
Members of the public eyeing a financial incentive for their bravery may find it worth their efforts; information that leads directly to an arrest could reel in rewards from $1,000 to $10,000. For further details on Harjo and other fugitives still at large, individuals are encouraged to visit the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office. The collective eyes and ears of the public supplement the manhunt, expanding the reach of justice beyond the grasp of law enforcement alone.
