During the chaos, a fight broke out, and one individual, armed with a firearm, discharged several rounds leading to one person being shot in the leg while sitting in a vehicle, according to a report from WCCB Charlotte; despite the injuries, the victim is presently in stable condition. A suspect connected to the physical altercation has been apprehended, yet authorities are actively searching for the shooting suspect, with police urging anyone with footage or information to come forward.
"I like seeing nice cars and I just happened to be in the wrong spot at the wrong time," Markus Horton, who was at the unlawful gathering with his girlfriend, the victim of the shooting, told QCNews. Horton expressed concerns about the closure of safe venues for car enthusiasts, leading to more dangerous unsanctioned events.
