Tonight, the haze will persist until about 8pm before the skies clear up, with temperatures dropping to a comfortable 67 degrees. Even though there's calm in the air, as "Southwest wind around 5 mph" was reported, residents will experience clear skies. As we head into Thursday, the city is set to bake slightly higher at 91 degrees under sunny conditions and a steady west wind continuing to blow gently at around 5 mph.
Heading into the weekend, the change will be felt as there's "a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm" on Friday. The sun remains mostly unchallenged, though, with temperatures hovering near the 87-degree mark and a northeast breeze coming in at 5 mph. The NWS predicts a 20% chance of precipitation for the day, rising to a 50% chance of rain showers and possible thunderstorms Friday night.
Unfortunately, the likelihood of wet weather crescendos on Saturday, with "showers likely, mainly after 2pm" and overcast skies which will cap the temperatures at a high near 81. The evening might also have its fair share of thunder and rain, as there's a 70% chance that showers and possibly a storm will strike the city, specifically before 2am; meanwhile, the low temperature is expected to be around 66 degrees.
As the tail-end of the weekend approaches, Sunday to Tuesday presents a consistent theme; showers and bits of sunshine fight for dominance. Cloudy skies will play host to a 50% chance of rain on Sunday, which will dial down slightly to a 40% chance of precipitation on both Sunday night and Monday. By Tuesday, showers remain a possibility with a 30% chance as the high temperature hovers around the 78 degrees mark, indicating a damp but not downbeat start to the week in Philadelphia.
