
On June 2, a shooting in Philadelphia's 9th District claimed the life of 31-year-old Derwin Matthews. According to Philadelphia Police Department, officers found Matthews on the 200 block of South Camac Street with a gunshot wound to the abdomen; he was pronounced dead later that evening at Jefferson Hospital at 6:20 pm.
Authorities have since identified two suspects in relation to the homicide. Now they have turned to the public for help in apprehending Tyrik Ransom, a 24-year-old from the 7100 block of Buist Avenue, and Nysheem Hinson-Rakley, aged 22, who last resided on the 900 block of Parrish Street. Located on the highway where Matthews was found, police are seeking any information that can assist in the case.
The Philadelphia Police are taking calls from anyone with details on the suspects' whereabouts. They have urged those who can provide any relevant information to contact the Homicide Unit directly at 215-686-3334 or to leave an anonymous tip at 215-686-TIPS. The police assure that all tips they received will remain confidential.
