On Tuesday around 1 p.m., a Pierce County traffic deputy observed a vehicle committing several traffic violations, including speeding, changing lanes erratically, and running stop signs. The deputy initiated a pursuit that ended with a PIT maneuver. The driver then tried to run away but was quickly detained. He told the deputy he knew he couldn’t outrun him because "our deputy was too fast." Drug paraphernalia was seen in the vehicle, which was seized with a warrant, as reported by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
A 38-year-old man faces several charges, including eluding police, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and obstruction. He was booked into the Pierce County Jail. According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, "The moral of this story… don’t run since we have way too many track stars on our team."
