
A U.S. Postal Service worker was shot while on delivery duty in South Los Angeles on Monday morning, sparking an investigation by local law enforcement, confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department, as reported by NBC Los Angeles. The shooting occurred near the intersection of Century Boulevard and South Central Avenue in the Green Meadows neighborhood, around 11:05 a.m.
The victim, a 35-year-old postal worker, sustained a gunshot wound to their arm during the incident, ABC7 reports. Police indicated that the shooting did not appear to be a robbery as no property was reported taken from the scene. The postal worker was, later, transported to a local hospital; however, their condition remains unspecified.
Aerial footage from the scene showed police setting up a perimeter in their search for a suspect described as a man dressed in all-black clothing. The identity and motive of the assailant are still unknown, with the suspect remaining at large. The area immediately surrounding the location of the shooting saw heightened police activity following the incident.
