
San Antonio authorities are currently seeking the whereabouts of a driver involved in a severe car accident that left a pregnant woman injured this past weekend. The collision occurred on the 17300 block of Wurzbach Parkway around 11:12 p.m. Saturday, according to reports from FOX San Antonio.
Police officials said the 27-year-old woman, who is six months into her pregnancy, was a passenger in a 2008 black Chevrolet Avalanche. It's been reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to slam into concrete dividers. In the chaos that ensued, the driver proceeded to hurriedly flee the scene without looking to provide any aid or support to his injured passenger. The nature of this act is not just a legal failing but an ethical one, leaving a vulnerable individual recklessly endangered.
Emergency responders transported the woman to the hospital with bodily injuries, where she is now in stable condition, along with her unborn child. This news comes from a statement obtained by News 4 San Antonio, offering some solace amidst the alarming incident.
The San Antonio Police Department has made it clear that once the driver is located, charges will be brought forth. "When the driver of the vehicle is found, they will be charged with Collision Involving Injury," police said to FOX San Antonio.
