Authorities have been actively searching for a missing man after he disappeared in Arcadia Lake over the weekend. Edmond Police and Edmond Fire Department underwater rescue teams were dispatched after receiving reports of the incident. According to KFOR, a man, wearing orange shorts, went overboard when he jumped from a boat to swim and began to drift away. Attempts by his companion, a woman who was with him on the boat, to recover him were unsuccessful, and she was unable to operate the boat to come to his aid.

Edmond Police initiated the search, employing boats and drones to expand their reach in efforts to locate the lost individual quickly. Despite their endeavors, the mission to find the man shifted from a search and rescue to a recovery operation after more than an hour of intensive searching. As reported by News9, the dive team was sent out to investigate further. Access to boat ramps nearby has been restricted in an effort to support the ongoing search efforts.

A lake visitor mentioned to KFOR that police approached their swimming area around 3:30 PM, stating a man had gone missing, following which authorities conducted a several-hour-long search operation. With the man still not located, law enforcement decided, as the night fell, to call off the search efforts until the next morning.

The recovery operation was resumed today, with police and fire officials returning to the scene at 8:30 AM. The police disclosed, according to a statement obtained by KOCO, that the missing man could not swim and that the unfortunate incident occurred when he entered the water to cool off. The man's identity has not yet been released, and the search is ongoing as teams comb through the waters of Lake Arcadia in hopes to soon provide closure to this distressing occurrence.
