In St. Tammany Parish, what was intended to be a covert comeback for an alleged drug trafficker has turned into a spectacle of crime and irresponsibility, with children caught in the crossfire. According to a social media post by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, Slidell resident William Perry has been arrested along with Brishad Johnson and Stephanie Badeaux for running a "fentanyl fueled circus of bad decisions." The trio now faces multiple drug-related charges, including intent to distribute fentanyl, after a narcotics operation was dismantled by the authorities.
The narrative of Perry's criminal escapades dates back to an October 2024 incident, where he found himself in pursuit by deputies with illegal substances in his vehicle. Despite being out on bond, Perry allegedly chose to not only continue in his illicit activities but also to escalate them. The Sheriff's Office executed warrants on June 9 at two homes, one in Slidell and a one in Abita Springs, where they uncovered a significant stash of illegal drugs. The haul included over 250 grams of fentanyl in both pill and powder form, alongside cocaine, marijuana, and lorazepam. Perry seemed to have disregarded the likelihood of being caught a second time, thus compounding his woes with an array of new charges.
In their Facebook announcement, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office detailed the findings from the warrants executed, which included two digital scales, an AK-style Draco rifle, and $822 in cash, along with the narcotics. But perhaps more troubling than the weapons and drugs was the presence of three children during the raid, a fact that underscores the reckless endangerment accompanying such criminal undertakings.
The social media post from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office had a tone of admonishment for those who operate outside the law, specifically warning: "If you’re out on bond, maybe don’t restart your drug empire."
