Suspect in Custody for Series of Armed Bank Robberies in Seattle

A 39-year-old man was taken into custody by Seattle police detectives on Wednesday, charged with a string of armed bank robberies from the previous year. The arrest marks the culmination of months of investigative work by the Seattle Police Department’s Robbery Unit and Community Response Group officers. According to the SPD Blotter, detectives apprehended the suspect as he exited his residence in the Chinatown-International District.

The detainment occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday near Maynard Avenue South and South Jackson Street. After being taken to the Seattle Police Headquarters for questioning, the suspect was then booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
