The tornado hit unexpectedly around 3 p.m. on May 29, catapulting the 19-year-old nearly 300 feet from his home, a fact that Tray Chaney recounted to FOX 5 Atlanta. The aftermath saw Malachi spending vital recovery time in ICU before being moved to a regular room, his father posted updates on social media, sharing Malachi's resilience and humor despite the ordeal.
Looking ahead, Malachi is set to commence treatment at Atlanta's Shepherd Rehabilitation Center, focusing on healing from his brain injury.
