In Lower Manhattan, the saga of anti-ICE protests continued with two persons being detained on what has been the third consecutive night. According to a report by ABC7 New York, the demonstrations have been less intense compared to the 86 arrests made on Tuesday. Nonetheless, tensions rose with instances of protestors pushing police.

The gatherings, which began at Foley Square before moving throughout Lower Manhattan, led to demonstrators being arrested for obstructing the access point to Federal Plaza. Despite the protests, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch maintained that the NYPD has the situation under control, stating in a message obtained by ABC7 New York that "their responsibility is to maintain safety and order on the streets."

Similarly, unrest persisted last night in Los Angeles, leading to dozens of arrests, as reported by ABC7 New York. A state of emergency has been declared, leading to the deployment of National Guard troops and 700 Marines in response to the protest actions which have expanded outside of hotels where ICE agents are believed to be lodged.

Back in New York, a separate protest ended with arrests outside the federal immigration courts. According to CBS News New York, the protest saw a registered nurse named Dalia join after her shift, expressing that the movement was personal for her, saying, "I help a lot of people, a lot of people that don't have access to health care, and if it wasn't for people like me, the products of immigrants, this health care system would fall apart even more."

Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Kaz Daughtry emphasized the NYPD's capability to manage protests without federal military support. This was in the wake of questions surrounding his recent golf outing with President Trump, about which Daughtry told CBS News New York, "That'll remain private. We were there on our own time. Guys on the golf course having fun with the president of the United States."
