Vallejo has witnessed a surge in criminal activity as five individuals were apprehended following an auto burglary and subsequent police pursuit. The Vallejo Police Department took to social media, detailing the events that led to the arrest. Last Saturday, a utility company employee reported a break-in of his truck on the 100 block of Plaza Drive, providing a detailed description of the suspects and their escape vehicle, an Infiniti M35.
When officers spotted the suspect vehicle near Broadway Street and Lewis Brown Drive, they attempted to execute a traffic stop safely. However, the Infiniti recklessly sped away, leading officers on a chase, which they decided to terminate quickly in the interest of public safety. A later search in the area revealed two suspects as they appeared to deliberately enter a GMC Yukon, which officers promptly stopped and detained all five occupants within.
During the detention process, police observed two unregistered loaded firearms in the vehicle, along with burglary tools and other items relevant to their investigation. According to the Vallejo Police Department, another officer found the initially used Infiniti abandoned on the 100 block of Gina Court, while surveillance footage revealed suspects fleeing the area on foot.
The traffic stop also exposed the histories of the occupants; the front passenger, an adult male, was on felony probation for burglary from Sacramento County and was wanted for evading police. The driver, an adult female, was found to be driving with an expired vehicle registration. The authorities identified the two individuals caught fleeing the initial vehicle as juveniles. All suspects, three adults and two juveniles, were arrested and processed per their ages and offenses, landing the adults in Solano County Jail and the juveniles in the Juvenile Detention Facility after notification of their parents.
