Following a strategic reevaluation of its business model, Voodoo Brewing Company has decided to close its North Shore outlet in Pittsburgh, opting to concentrate its efforts on the core aspect of its business: brewing. The closure, taking effect today, marks a shift toward expanding beer production and broader distribution within Pennsylvania, reflecting the company's desire to strengthen its national presence through its franchise network. In a statement reported by WPXI, Voodoo Brewing explained, "We’ve made the call to close the pub so we can double down on what we do best: brewing world-class beer and making it more available throughout Pennsylvania."
The North Shore location, which has been serving beers to patrons for nearly three years, follows the closure of their Seven Fields spot, which took place on March 31. While this chapter comes to a close, the company maintains a presence in New Kensington and the Houston area. Expressing gratitude, Voodoo announced on Facebook, as detailed by Audacy, “Thank you to everyone who stopped in and supported us on the North Shore and to our staff who made it happen every single day. If you’ve been meaning to visit, now’s the time.”
In tandem with the pub closure announcement, local Pittsburgh developer Herky Pollock hints at plans for the soon-to-be-vacated premises on North Shore Drive; however, details remain scarce. Pollock, fostering a sense of anticipation, suggested the public should stay tuned for a huge announcement concerning the space's future, with developments likely on the horizon that aim to refresh and repurpose the familiar establishment location.
