
Washington D.C. is expected to see widespread showers and thunderstorms today. Forecasts show a high near 73°F with calm winds turning east, and a 90% chance of precipitation with possible rainfall totals up to three-quarters of an inch, according to the National Weather Service.
Thunderstorms are likely to continue into the evening, with temperatures falling to around 65°F and a 60% chance of continued precipitation. Winds are expected to become calm overnight.
On Monday, skies will be cloudy and will gradually turn to mostly sunny, with a high near 80°F. There remains a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the area. Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening, especially near and south of U.S. Route 50. Hazards include damaging wind gusts, large hail, and the potential for isolated tornadoes. Localized heavy rain could lead to flash flooding, particularly south of Baltimore.
No additional hazardous weather is currently expected after Monday until potentially next Saturday.
