According to the Waterford Police Department, the pedestrian was attempting to cross the road from the south but failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
The victim, a resident of Waterford, was hit by a westbound 2001 Ford Econoline van, which was being driven by an 81-year-old man from White Lake Township.
