The microtransit program operates with a fleet of ADA-friendly vehicles capable of seating up to eight passengers and includes bike racks for those looking to combine their journey with cycling. During the pilot phase, services were limited in scope, but with the upcoming expansion, Peoria residents can soon expect broader availability. According to WeRIDE's announcement, traveling with WeRIDE won’t break the bank. Adult fares are priced at $2, while discounted rides are available for seniors, veterans, students, and disabled individuals at $1 per trip. In keeping with family-friendly policies, children aged five and under can hitch a free ride when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. Payments can be conveniently done via the WeRIDE app or handed to the driver in exact cash, as making change isn’t an option.
