
El Paso ISD has ushered in a new era at Magoffin Middle School, choosing Ahmad Ismail as its principal to navigate the educational tides. With more than a decade of leadership and classroom experience, Ismail comes from a recent stint as assistant principal at El Paso High School, where his tenure saw significant gains, including a 95% graduation rate and a 28% rise in advanced academic program enrollment, according to El Paso ISD.
Ismail's administrative journey began after years in the classroom, initially laying his educational groundwork as a science teacher and instructional coach at Sunset High School, before transitioning into leadership, Ahmad Ismail's path has led him through roles that shaped college and career readiness, and enriched advanced academics at Austin High School, he's carved out a niche in educational administration, showcasing an investment in student success paired with faculty development; as evidenced by his past contributions, which have not gone unnoticed, garnering him recognition as Teacher of the Year in 2013.
In addition to his direct education roles, Ismail has been a consistent presence on the district stage, actively undertaking initiatives such as the Empower Fellowship and serving on the District Anti-Bullying Committee. His approach to leadership has consistently emphasized "instructional coaching, equity, and empowering both students and educators," as reported by El Paso ISD. Ismail is also well-prepared academically for the challenges ahead, holding a master’s degree in Educational Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Biological Science from the University of Texas at El Paso.
