The City of Arlington has completed its 2024 Reclamation Program, improving about three lane miles of worn-down roads, especially near Pleasant Ridge Road and Park Springs Boulevard. These roads were chosen not only because of visible damage but also due to how much the community relies on them, as per the City of Arlington.

Funding came from the voter-approved quarter-cent Street Maintenance Sales Tax. Work began in September 2024 on streets like Curt Drive, Indian Summer Lane, and Pleasantview Drive. The city used a color-coded system called the Overall Condition Index (OCI) to decide which roads needed attention, with red showing the most severe damage and green marking roads in good shape.

The reclamation process involves breaking up the road surface 16–18 inches deep, mixing it with lime and cement, and creating a solid new base. This is then topped with 6–8 inches of new asphalt. Unlike traditional road repairs, this method is faster and more durable, with the roads expected to last up to 20 years.
