The video, distributed by authorities, captures a dark-colored sedan approaching the entrance of Empire Park moments before the violence unfolded. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, an unidentified tall man can be seen exiting from the front passenger seat of the car, believed to be the suspected shooter.
Investigators, desperate to make an arrest in the case, are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the perpetrator's apprehension. The tragic sequence of events began around 9:44 p.m. last Thursday at 245 Oak Drive SE, where a 21-year-old woman and Deshawn Johnson, the 18-year-old who was later pronounced dead, were found shot. Subsequently, police responded to a second scene at 50 Mount Zion Road SW finding three more victims suffering from gunshot wounds – two stable, and one in critical condition. A fifth victim, shot in the leg, was discovered in a vehicle during a police stop near Old Hapeville Road and Cleveland Avenue, the report from FOX 5 Atlanta elaborated.
The Atlanta Police Department (APD) has linked all three crime scenes, indicating that the principal location was at 279 Oak Drive SE. With the investigation ongoing, the APD has called upon residents and witnesses to come forward with any potentially valuable information. In a statement obtained by 11Alive, the APD confirmed that "all three scenes are related, with the actual incident location being 279 Oak Drive."
