The Atlanta Police Department is currently in the throes of an investigation into a fatal incident that gripped the city's highways on Sunday. The details of the harrowing ordeal were published on the Atlanta Police Department's news section, depicting a scenario that unfolded roughly between 9:00 PM and 9:41 PM on I-75/85 Southbound near Exit 248C, known as Andrew Young International Blvd.
The Department is calling for witnesses to come forward following a deadly incident on a city highway that claimed the life of Barry Walker. According to a statement released on the Atlanta Police Department’s website, the altercation took place on the highway's right shoulder, where Walker fell into the roadway and was subsequently struck by a passing vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, described in initial reports as a white or light-colored sedan, has become the focus of the authorities' investigation. After striking Walker, the driver stopped briefly before continuing. Investigators encourage any repair shops or collision centers that may have serviced such a vehicle after the incident to come forward. Adding to this plea for communal assistance, the Department also seeks dashcam footage from anyone driving in the vicinity between 9:00 PM and 9:45 PM that fateful evening.
A reward of up to $5,000 beckons for information leading to a break in the case. "If you were driving in the area and have dashcam footage between 9:00 PM and 9:45 PM that may have captured the events," the Atlanta Police Department urges in their public statement.
