In an announcement, Acting United States Attorney Michael M. Simpson just confirmed the sentencing of 41-year-old Henry Jermaine Miller. According to court documents and to the official press release, the Bogalusa resident has been handed a 75-month imprisonment term. This comes after a guilty plea to charges of possession with the intent to distribute narcotics, specifically heroin and methamphetamine.

U.S. District Judge Barry W. Ashe issued the sentence on July 17. In addition to the prison term, Miller was ordered to serve three years of supervised release and pay a mandatory $100 special assessment fee. The charges stem from violations of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(C). Miller was found to have consistently conspired to distribute controlled substances—including methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl—from 2021 through 2023.

Miller’s case concludes with Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson formally recognizing the joint efforts of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bogalusa Police Department in the investigation that led to the prosecution. Simpson noted the involvement of these agencies in addressing drug distribution in Bogalusa and acknowledged their roles in the enforcement process.

Assistant United States Attorney Stuart Theriot of the Narcotics Unit handled the prosecution in Miller’s case.
