Yesterday morning in Brookhaven, a burglary report escalated into a high-speed police chase that concluded with a vehicle crashing into a local home. WSB-TV reported that officers were dispatched to an apartment complex on Blair Circle after a call came in about a trio allegedly breaking into storage units. The situation quickly unfolded as police located the suspects' vehicle departing the parking deck and initiated pursuit when the driver did not comply with commands to stop.

The chase weaved through Johnson Ferry Road to Peachtree Road and then onto Redding Road. Brookhaven Police Department's maneuvers came to an abrupt halt when the car operated by the suspects veered off the road and made a crash into a residence, according to a statement obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta. The homeowner, Jimmy Baugnon, recounted the startling episode, “As I popped up, I heard sirens immediately and then the crash into the house. I knew exactly what happened.”

In the aftermath of the wreckage, police apprehended 32-year-old Brandon Wyche, the driver, who is now facing charges including burglary and fleeing an eluding, as reported by WSB-TV. Two other individuals, a man and a woman, fled the scene on foot and remain at large. Wyche's jarring morning endeavor has landed him in the DeKalb County Jail, with his driving privileges previously suspended now compounded by fresh allegations.

No injuries were reported from the collision. DeKalb County Fire Rescue examined the home for structural integrity and found minimal damage. Baugnon considered his family fortunate, sharing with FOX 5 Atlanta, "the home didn't have that much damage." Brookhaven Police have yet to release details pertaining to the two suspects who evaded arrest. The community is urged to contact the local authorities with any relevant information that may assist in the ongoing investigation.
