The town is rolling out the red carpet again for its free Stormwater Site Assessment program. Starting August 1, you can sign up to get expert advice on managing stormwater on your property. This comes straight from the horse's mouth, a recent announcement on the Town of Carrboro's website.
This program offers personalized sessions with the Town's staff, who will visit your property and provide advice on stormwater management. They can help with options like rain gardens, bioswales, reducing paved areas, or setting up rainwater collection systems. Last year, many homeowners participated, leading to noticeable improvements in stormwater infiltration.
The goal is to reduce runoff, which helps prevent flooding and protects local streams. Since the program began, "dozens of assessments have been completed, with many property owners moving forward on improvements that support stormwater infiltration," according to the Town of Carrboro's webpage.
Applications are open from August 1 through October 31, and assessments will continue through February 2026. For more information, visit the Town of Carrboro's official page.
