In a recent crackdown on organized crime, the Cleveland Division of Police announced a significant milestone in an ongoing battle against illegal activities. Last Friday, a Grand Jury brought down indictments against six individuals for their alleged involvement in a vehicle theft and drug trafficking ring in Cleveland. The inquiry, spearheaded by the police's Gang Impact Unit, spanned over two years and involved collaboration between multiple law enforcement agencies.
The charges leverage the Ohio ‘Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity’ statue, analogous to the federal RICO law, identifying three individuals purportedly at the heart of the criminal activities. Arrested are Gregory Orr, J'Kwon Burley, and Michael Gadomski Jr., each 21 and 20 years old, respectively. In the same sweep, Jerrel Smith, aged 20, faces charges of Complicity to Conspiracy, while Tyshawn Morris and Jamarieon Williams, also in their early twenties, have been indicted separately as part of the broader investigation.
A statement released via the Cleveland Division of Police's social media detailed the haul from the investigation's culmination, 13 firearms, various narcotics, and numerous stolen vehicles were recovered. The vehicles were apparently tracked using digital evidence, including "ProPad" devices, underscoring the operation's sophisticated approach to crime.
