Following the chaos last week's storm wrought, the building's foundation is secure once more, inviting clerks back to their posts starting at 7:30 AM today to resume their daily service of processing fines and providing assistance for other court-related matters.
While the fresh paint dries and the carpets regain their flatness, the reparation work is forging ahead on the second, third, and fourth floors, the offices and courtrooms there still licking their wounds from nature's recent fury, the expectation is that these repairs will continue through to the end of this week, this according to an update shared by the City of Dallas yesterday.
In the shadow of the ongoing construction, the usual courtroom hustle will be on a temporary hiatus, and those scheduled for appearances this week should keep an eye out for a missive in the post, as the courts are mailing out new hearing dates to manage the backlog. With the gavels silent, clerks are picking up the slack, dedicated to keeping the scales of justice in motion even as a hammer takes the place of the judge's wooden call for attention.
