In a late-night response to a resident's prompt alert, South San Francisco Police apprehended a suspect linked to an auto burglary in the Sunshine Gardens area. In a statement on their Facebook page, the department credited the resident's video surveillance footage for the quick response that led to the arrest of a 29-year-old Daly City man.

Upon deployment, the police used a drone to search for the suspect, who was found in his vehicle within the same neighborhood, still donning a sweatshirt consistent with the one seen in the surveillance video. The officers' search of the vehicle turned up burglary tools, stolen property linked to another city's case, forged checks and IDs, narcotics and paraphernalia, as well as a firearm magazine and pepper spray, which the convicted felon was illegally in possession of.

The collaborative effort of the Swing-A and Grave-A teams, along with an alert resident equipped with surveillance capabilities, culminated in the suspect being booked into the San Mateo County Jail. The police department expressed their gratitude, stating, "Huge thanks to the alert resident with great surveillance, our drone operator, and the Swing-A and Grave-A teams for the coordinated arrest." They also reinforced the importance of community vigilance, urging others to report any suspicious activity they witness, reiterating, "If you see something, say something. Your timely call makes a difference."
