A family in Dearborn Heights is reaching out to the community in an urgent appeal to locate their missing emotional support puppy, a Yorkie Poo named Teddy. According to a CBS News Detroit report, the puppy was last seen on July 7, 2025, near Telegraph Road and Ann Arbor Trail. The Dearborn Heights Police Department is actively involved in the search for the suspected stolen dog.
Teddy serves as a lifeline for Miracle, who is deaf and battles with bipolar and depression, which makes the search for the puppy not just an attempt to recover a lost pet but a mission to restore a crucial component of one girl's well-being. "This is my sister; she's deaf, and the dog is actually her dog. He's her emotional support companion," Lenisa Daniels, Miracle's sister, has told FOX 2 Detroit. The family believes someone may have lured Teddy out of their yard, as the gate was discovered open and the dog missing. Efforts to locate him include spreading his blanket outside to help guide him home by scent, and distributing flyers throughout the region.
A social media plea for help posted on Detroit, MI - Lost Dogs, Cats & Pets - PawBoost includes a message from the owner, detailing the significance of the 22-week-old Yorkshire terrier to the family: "We love him. We miss him and we really want him to return." They're hoping for the safe and quick return of Teddy, who is described as black and brown.
Teddy is microchipped, which could assist in his identification should someone find him. The Dearborn Heights Police Department encourages anyone with information or sightings of Teddy to get in touch immediately. Miracle's message of hope, "stay faithful, stay positive, stay strong," as noted by FOX 2 Detroit.
