The National Weather Service (NWS) in Denver has issued a detailed forecast and a hazardous weather outlook for northeast and north central Colorado. Residents can expect "sunny and hot" conditions today, with temperatures soaring as high as 98 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the National Weather Service. A south-southwest wind will shift east in the afternoon and could reach gusts up to 15 mph.
As for the evening, the weather is set to be "partly cloudy," with temperatures dipping to a low of around 65 degrees. Residents in some areas should watch for "stronger showers or storms" that could trigger briefly gusty winds, particularly over the far northeast of Colorado, as stated by the NWS. Clear skies will soon give way to increasing clouds on Monday, predicting a continuation of high temperatures nearing 97 degrees.
The outlook heading into the week signals a shift in the weather pattern. Moisture is expected to return by Tuesday or Wednesday, with chances for afternoon showers and thunderstorms increasing across the region, as reported by the National Weather Service. This suggests that while the early part of the week may maintain the hot streak, residents should brace for potential precipitation midweek.
Looking further ahead, there's an 80 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm after noon on Wednesday. The temperatures are expected to cool down to a high near 82 degrees, bringing some relief from the intense heat experienced earlier in the week. A more turbulent mix of weather is set to persist into the week's end, with more chances of showers and thunderstorms forecasted, especially approaching the weekend.
