A suspect in Detroit became the focal point of a police manhunt after throwing a brick at a business owner's vehicle over a beverage dispute. The incident, which unfolded at a Mobil gas station at the intersection of 7 Mile Road and the Southfield Freeway, was captured on high-definition security footage in the early hours of Thursday. As reported by FOX 2 Detroit, the unidentified male, seemingly incensed by the denial of a complimentary drink, returned to the scene to exact his retaliation, damaging the parked car with a thrown brick.
After his angered departure and subsequent destructive return, the man fled the scene in an aged Cadillac sedan. Sporting a black 'White Sox' baseball cap and blue and white 'Air Jordan' shoes, the suspect stands between 25 to 30 years old, 5'6" tall, and weighs around 150 lbs., as described by officials. According to a statement obtained by ClickOnDetroit, the Detroit Police Department has urged the public to contact them with any information related to the individual or incident.
The gas station involved in the disturbance is a known Detroit Greenlight partner, implying heightened security measures such as high-quality video surveillance aimed at deterring and solving crimes. Despite this, the suspect remains at large. Walking on the street and not even approaching the property, the gas station's manager, Moe, expressed concerns about the man's recent behavior. "I understand for the last couple of days that he, he’s been out there hanging out and starting some problems with even with the customers themselves," Moe told FOX 2 Detroit, emphasizing the need to call the police should he be spotted.
While the search continues, authorities are enhancing their efforts to apprehend the suspect. Interested individuals with any knowledge relating to the crime or the man in question, donning a white t-shirt, gray, and black basketball shorts, black socks, are encouraged to reach out. They may contact the Detroit Police Department's 8th Precinct, Crime Stoppers, or submit an online tip through DetroitRewards.tv, where a $500 reward awaits claimants, as per reports from Audacy.
