Edmond residents have a new opportunity to engage with city leadership through an initiative called Edmond Matters. Launched by the City Council, the program is designed to bring community members and local officials together in a less formal setting than traditional council meetings. The series provides a space for open dialogue between residents and their elected representatives, according to the City of Edmond.
This quarterly event series is designed to focus on specific topics related to city operations. The first session will cover the recently approved city budget. After the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback during a Q&A session. The event offers residents a chance to learn how public funds are allocated.
The events will be held in the City Council chambers at the new City Hall, located at 22 E. Main Street. Councilmembers Maggie Murdock Nichols and Phil Fraim will lead the first session on August 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. A second session, led by Councilmembers Preston Watterson and Barry K. Moore, will follow on August 7 from 6 to 7 p.m. Both meetings are open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend.
