El Paso stands ready to mark Independence Day, with city offices closing in observance but essential services such as waste collection maintaining regular hours. According to the City of El Paso, while administrative offices take a break on Friday, July 4, the garbage trucks won't.
In the community spirit, even as the Municipal Court, along with libraries and cultural centers, close their doors for the day, the El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens will welcome visitors from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., ensuring no interruption to residents' leisure plans. Opening for a few hours on July 4 are also the city's animal shelters, offering a chance for adoptable pets to find a home amidst the holiday celebrations. Closed only on the following day, the Greater El Paso Landfill and Citizen Collection Stations invite the public to make use of their regular service hours on the day of the holiday.
Residential refuse won't pile up on the curbside, as the press release assures that both trash and recycling collections will proceed without hiccup on the Fourth. And in the heat of July, city water parks and spray parks, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., promise refreshment and fun for families across the metro area. Sun Metro will keep the wheels of transit turning, albeit on a Sunday/Holiday schedule.
