In a recent development from El Paso County, the Sheriff's Office has reported the arrest of 33-year-old Jose Alejandro Vaquera, who stands accused of fabricating court documents. According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, the arrest followed a completed investigation by detectives from the East Montana Patrol Station on Thursday.
Vaquera allegedly submitted doctored documents and emails to County Criminal Court #1, purporting to show his compliance with a previous court order, which included participation in a Battering Intervention and Prevention Program; this led to the launch of a detailed investigation by the Sheriff's Office's Criminal Investigations Division after suspicions were raised about the credibility of these submissions and upon review, it became clear that the submitted materials were not genuine, resulting in Vaquera's arrest.
The charges against Vaquera include Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence, carrying a bond of $20,000, and Online Impersonation, which resulted in an additional $10,000 bond. He is currently held at the El Paso County Detention Facility, awaiting further proceedings. The case underscores the Sheriff's Office's stance on upholding justice and its commitment to prosecutorial diligence, ensuring that false representation within the legal system does not go unchecked and that those responsible are held to account.
