Exploring the historical fabric of El Paso's Mission Valley is now a monthly affair, thanks to the collective efforts of Visit El Paso and El Paso County. Engaging locals and tourists alike, the free guided tours along the El Paso Mission Trail delve into the region’s storied past, a testament to the enduring legacy of its ancient missions. The initiative offers an accessible window into the rich cultural tapestry that defines this Texan borderland.
The forthcoming expedition is slated for Saturday, August 2, starting bright and early at 9:00 a.m. and wrapping up by noon. As detailed by the City of Socorro, attendees are to congregate at the Mission Valley Visitor Center at 9065 Alameda Avenue to commence their journey. The tour not only promises to enlighten but also alleviates potential participants' worry about cost barriers, as it is free and open to attendees of all ages.
For those driving, there’s some good news: parking won't tack on any additional costs. Free onsite parking ensures that the day's focus remains undisturbed by the mundane concerns of where to stash one's vehicle. The tour itself promises a route that weaves through the Mission Trail's most iconic landmarks, each chronicling a chapter of the valley's extensive history.
