Last night, the quiet of Monets Ln was disrupted by a string of vehicle break-ins and thefts, including the alarming theft of a handgun from a car. Evendale Emergency Services has issued an urgent appeal to residents: Check your security cameras. According to a post on their Facebook page by Evendale Emergency Services, the incidents occurred between 9:00 pm and 11:00 pm last evening. They're reaching out to the public to help identify the suspects involved in these crimes.
In an unsettling trend of events, several vehicles were rifled through by unknown culprits, culminating in a car being stolen. This news comes as a clear reminder of the vulnerability of personal property when left unmonitored. "CHECK YOUR SECURITY CAMERAS !!!!" urged Evendale Emergency Services in the recent social media alert. While searching for leads, they emphasized the community's role, pleading with any individuals with potential footage or information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
Part of the threat to community safety stems from a handgun stolen out of one of the vehicles, raising the stakes and ensuring urgency in the call for community surveillance review—Evendale Emergency Services alongside Sgt. Tyler Trame is leading the charge, requesting that locals review their security footage for any suspicious activity and share the information with their neighbors. Sightings or information that could contribute to the investigation can be sent directly to Sgt. Trame via email at [email protected] or by calling the police department at 513-563-2249.
The department emphasized the importance of responsible firearm ownership in their post, concluding with a vital piece of advice: "Lastly, DO NOT LEAVE FIREARMS in your vehicle," as per Evendale Emergency Services. It's an unnecessary risk that poses a threat not just to the individual but to the larger community, as it puts weapons in the hands of those with potentially malicious intentions. Ensuring the secure storage of firearms could prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future, protecting our neighborhoods from additional harm.
