Yesterday afternoon, the streets of Canton Township were disrupted by a multi-vehicle collision that resulted in injuries and hospitalizations. At approximately 12:13 p.m., a collision occurred at the intersection of Warren and Morton Taylor roads involving three vehicles, according to a report from CBS News Detroit. A white Ford Edge, driven by a 66-year-old woman from Canton, initiated contact with a black Ford Explorer driven by a 67-year-old man from Westland.
The incident, further expanded in a report by Hometown Life, stated that the collision propelled the Explorer into a blue Toyota Rav4 that was stationary, awaiting a turn from eastbound Warren onto southbound Morton Taylor. The 30-year-old Plymouth man behind the wheel of the Toyota was not reported injured, whereas a total of five occupants from the Ford Edge, and Explorer were conveyed to local hospitals for treatment. Lt. Michael Andes from the Canton Township Police described the incident as a "serious injury" crash.
ClickOnDetroit reported on the aftermath, confirming that multiple people were taken to the hospital, though the severity of their injuries remains undisclosed. Authorities have indicated that alcohol has been preliminarily ruled out as a contributing factor. The Canton Township Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team is actively working to determine the cause of the crash.
