A former youth soccer coach from Texas faces the possibility of life in prison after a Michigan jury convicted him of multiple felony counts related to sexual misconduct with a child, as reported by the Michigan Attorney General's Office. The defendant, Andrew Olnhausen, age 38, was found guilty on numerous counts, including four counts of First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, which are potential life sentence offenses with lifetime electronic monitoring.

Olnhausen, who coached at Fellowship of Christian Athletes, was charged with having a sexually abusive relationship with one of his soccer players. The abuse started in 2016, when the victim was only 12 years old and continued until they were about 16. In addition to the first-degree charges, Olnhausen was convicted of three counts of Second-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, each a 15-year felony; one count of Children – Accosting for Immoral Purpose, a 4-year felony; and several other charges related to the possession of child sexually abusive material and misuse of a computer to commit a crime.

According to a statement made by the Michigan Attorney General's Office, Attorney General Dana Nessel expressed gratitude towards the jury for their diligence and acknowledged the efforts of the Adrian Police Department for their investigative work. "I commend the courage of the victim, whose decision to come forward after years of abuse made this outcome possible," Nessel said. "My office will continue pursuing justice for sexual assault survivors, no matter how long it takes."

The investigation by the said Adrian Police Department led to Olnhausen's extradition from Texas to Michigan in 2022 to face these charges. Olnhausen's sentencing is scheduled for September 5 at the 39th Circuit Court in Lenawee County, before Judge Olsaver.
