In a move that's bolstering local youth initiatives, the Fountain Hills Elks Lodge #2846 is turning a previously unused concession stand at Golden Eagle Park into a source of community support. The Elks have taken on the lease and operation of the stand during Little League games and tournaments, transforming it into a fountain of aid for various youth programs, as reported by the Town of Fountain Hills.
According to the Town of Fountain Hills, with the Elks at the helm, the stand now does more than satiate hunger—it funnels the majority of its revenue into the Fountain Hills Elks Youth Project, which contributes to educational and developmental programs, among others. "The Elks have stepped up to the plate and not only helped us in running the concession stand but are doing so in order to better our community," Community Services Director Kevin Snipes praised the Elks in a statement obtained by the Town of Fountain Hills.
Efforts by the Elks since taking over the concession stand operations have generated over $22,000 for the youth project as of May 2025, according to the same report. This financial boost is the result of more than 1,200 combined hours of volunteer service from the Elks, showcasing a significant commitment to youth and community, as per the Town of Fountain Hills.
Elks Exalted Ruler William Pageau emphasized the group's dedication to local families. "We are proud to help the kids and families in our community," Pageau told the Town of Fountain Hills. "We hope the redistribution of funds collected creates amazing opportunities for them going forward." While the concession stand will be on a break during the hotter months, it's set to reopen in September when the games kick off again.
