An armed heist at Milos Joyeria in North Andover earlier today has led to a tense search for suspects, with four individuals already detained. According to WHDH, the North Andover Police Department responded to the scene after receiving reports at approximately 10:27 a.m. about five men, masks and firearms in tow, robbing the jewelry store at gunpoint.
The pursuit began when police, on detail nearby, spotted a car described as the getaway vehicle, prompting a chase along Route 125 and onto Sutton Street towards Route 495, which, eventually led to the suspects crashing on Marston Street and fleeing on foot into the woods. North Andover Police officers, later seen by WHDH's cameras, were documenting the spilled bounty alongside the road next to the abandoned car, as the officers moved in.
A statement obtained by WCVB from North Andover Police Chief Charles Gray confirmed that multiple 911 calls were received detailing the armed incident. Gray mentioned that another suspect is still at large and, that the intense search operation continued well into the afternoon, with the involvement of state police resources including the State Police Air Wing, K-9 units, and Troop A personnel. The FBI is also assisting in the operation.
In the woodsy expanse of Lawrence, officers and troopers cordoned off areas and meticulously searched for the remaining suspect, with at least one arrest captured by Sky5 on Commonwealth Drive near Interstate 495, as reported by WCVB.
