Four people were injured this morning when an ambulance operated by Coastal Medical Transportation and a truck collided in Boston's Franklin Park. The incident occurred around 9:40 a.m. on Jewish War Veterans Drive, according to Boston law enforcement officials. Both vehicles were significantly damaged in the crash, which left the ambulance flipped onto its side, Boston 25 News reported.
Emergency responders worked swiftly to safely transport the injured parties to local hospitals. Two emergency medical technicians and a patient were amongst the injured, all of whom are believed to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A fourth individual, also hurt in the clash, was taken for medical attention as per police statements. Coastal Medical Transportation has since been made aware of the incident, but as of yet, has elected to not publicly release additional information. Authorities are still seeking to fully understand and have begun to investigate to determine the cause of the crash.
The Boston public has been asked to avoid the vicinity of the crash to allow emergency services to manage the situation. Traffic diversions and delays should be expected throughout the remainder of the day. The local news outlet, WCVB, has promised to promptly provide updates as more information becomes available. Further reports will likely to soon shed light on this unfortunate disruption to a city's pulse.
