Michael Dailey's transition from a decorated military career to a noteworthy small business owner and youth mentor is a testament to the resilience and resourcefulness of veterans seeking to continue their service to community and country. Following a distinguished 23-year tenure in the Army and Air Force, Dailey found a new calling as a coach and advisor to entrepreneurs in Arlington, where he applies his cultivated leadership skills from the military to the business arena.
Dailey's journey as an entrepreneur began shortly after he retired from a decade-long stint with Homeland Security. He chose to swiftly move to Arlington to be closer to his family after a personal tragedy. Despite the change in environment, Dailey continued to fulfill a public role by joining the Greater Arlington Chamber's Corporate Leadership Council (CLC) in 2018 with his commercial real estate company. He recognized an opportunity not only to build a business but to make a lasting impact in the community.
In a recent article from Arlington's official website, Dailey explained his aspiration for creating a legacy that endures beyond his endeavors, saying, "When you think about legacy, that impact is something that people take and they pass on because if whatever dies with me or just one generation behind me, then it's just not good enough."
With that vision, Dailey founded Invictus Legacy Builders in 2021, aiming to not just simply offer business advice but to genuinely drive entrepreneurs to exceed their potential. His company's mission is to aid business owners in overcoming challenges and to fully realize their goals into tangible success. "Being a veteran and knowing that difficulty and transitioning from the military into the private sector, and not really knowing how to operate," Dailey noted, as per the City of Arlington. He aims to bridge this gap with his extensive experience and insight.
