The Texas Hill Country saw an impressive gathering of country music's finest in support of flood relief efforts, where icons George Strait and Garth Brooks led a heartfelt benefit concert in Boerne. According to FOX San Antonio, the event designated as "Strait To The Heart" hosted at the Estancia at Thunder Valley, presented an intimate night with only 1,000 tickets available starting at $1,000 each—proceeds intended solely for those affected by the recent floods.
The concise but power-packed roster included performances by Wade Bowen, William Beckmann, Ray Benson, Riley Green, Randy Houser, Dean Dillon, Jamey Johnson, Kyle Park, and Hudson Westbrook but the event took a surprising turn when Garth Brooks, unannounced took to the stage and the event, which had already been an emotional affair for attendees was electrified further by the impromptu performance. In what was described by one attendee in a Country Thang Daily report, the sight of Brooks and Strait performing together felt like witnessing a pivotal moment in country music history.
A benefit concert held in Boerne raised more than $1 million to support flood relief efforts, drawing a crowd that included Texas Governor Greg Abbott and U.S. Senator Ted Cruz. The event featured performances by a lineup of artists, with author and minister Max Lucado delivering a message focused on unity and recovery. While notable political figures were in attendance, the evening centered on the performers and the fundraising mission. Organizers highlighted the strong community turnout as a key factor in the event’s success.
