Twin Peaks is bringing its sports-lodge concept to three South Texas markets, with plans to open restaurants in Brownsville, South Padre Island and Laredo. The chain, known for wall-to-wall televisions, made-to-order wings and draft beer served at 29 degrees Fahrenheit in frosted mugs, has signed a new development agreement to grow across the Texas-Mexico border region.

According to WhatNow, the new restaurants remain in the development stage, and specific addresses or opening dates have not been announced. The agreement was formally signed by Peaks and Pints LLC, an affiliate of Houston-based InnJoy Hospitality, granting the firm rights to develop Twin Peaks locations across Cameron and Webb counties, as reported by RestaurantNews.com. Cameron County includes Brownsville and South Padre Island, while Webb County is centered on Laredo.

Local Franchisees Take the Lead

Franchisees Nitin Kasan and Adrian Ramirez are leading the South Texas push for InnJoy Hospitality, with Kasan overseeing operations and Ramirez directing commercial real estate acquisition and development, per the same report. Kasan brings a hotel administration background to the venture, while Ramirez has more than two decades of experience in commercial real estate. InnJoy Hospitality itself is a family-owned company that got its start more than 25 years ago with a single motel in Freer, Texas, and has since grown into a real estate group managing hotels, restaurants, mixed-use developments and retail properties across Texas and the Caribbean.

The firm's track record includes large-scale adaptive reuse work, notably acquiring the historic 24-story Nix Medical Center building along the San Antonio River Walk and filing plans to convert the long-vacant hospital tower into multi-family residential and retail space, according to The Real Deal. Ray Bodnar, Twin Peaks' vice president of global franchise sales and development, said South Texas represents a strong long-term growth corridor for the brand thanks to steady population growth and regional tourism, the same outlet reported.

Border Trade Meets Coastal Tourism

Cameron and Webb counties represent key commercial corridors along the Texas-Mexico border, blending international cross-border trade with coastal tourism, according to the Rio Grande Valley Business Journal. Laredo functions as a major international land port, while South Padre Island remains one of Texas' primary vacation destinations, and Brownsville and South Padre Island together offer a steady mix of local residents and visitors, per WhatNow's reporting. Twin Peaks restaurants typically host events tied to major sporting occasions and show live games across large numbers of televisions throughout their dining areas.

The menu spans wings, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, flatbreads, steaks, appetizers and shareable dishes, alongside cocktails and other beer options, per WhatNow. As of mid-2026, Twin Peaks operates 115 locations across the United States and Mexico, a footprint that traces back to a single sports lodge established in 2005 in Lewisville, Texas, according to Restaurant Dive.

A Fresh Start After Bankruptcy

The South Texas deal comes just months after Twin Peaks emerged from a turbulent financial restructuring. In January 2026, parent company FAT Brands and Twin Hospitality Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Texas — a saga Hoodline previously covered as it unfolded. That filing led to a court-approved $359.5 million asset sale to TWNPKS Bid Co., allowing Twin Peaks to complete its transition to private ownership under Summit Twin Hospitality I, LLC in June 2026, ending its affiliation with FAT Brands, which had acquired the chain in 2021 for $300 million.

The brand's exit from bankruptcy was steered by Summit Acquisitions, LLC, a strategic advisory group formed by established Twin Peaks franchise operators including 3BMgmnt Inc., JEB Food Group and Operadora 2 Montes, working on behalf of bondholders while corporate leadership remained intact, Restaurant Dive reported. The South Texas agreement is part of a broader post-bankruptcy expansion push, as Twin Peaks also signed a separate multi-unit development deal in 2026 with New London Hospitality to bring the sports-lodge concept to Connecticut.

For now, Rio Grande Valley residents will have to wait for word on exact addresses and construction timelines, since those details have not yet been announced for Laredo, Brownsville or South Padre Island. But with an experienced regional developer in InnJoy Hospitality now holding the rights to Cameron and Webb counties, the arrival of another sports-lodge chain in South Texas appears to be a matter of when, not if.
