Firefighters in Waianae responded to a residential fire on Sunday afternoon. According to the Honolulu Fire Department, a 911 call was received at 4:03 p.m. about a fire at 86-058 Analipo Street. Eight units with 24 personnel were dispatched. The incident was upgraded to a second alarm after responders saw a visible smoke column while en route.
Upon arrival, the Honolulu Fire Department found smoke and flames coming from a single-story residence. Firefighters set up a water supply and began an "aggressive fire attack" using a large truck-mounted nozzle and handlines. The fire was under control by 4:14 p.m. The building was confirmed to be unoccupied, and no injuries were reported among Honolulu Fire Department personnel.
The Honolulu Fire Department put out the fire by 5:21 p.m. and used overhaul methods to check for hidden flames inside the building. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, and a report with details and damage estimates will be released when the investigation is finished.
