Attention, Parker residents and commuters: prepare for a slower pace on Lincoln Avenue starting July 14 due to essential infrastructure upgrades. In an assurance of public safety, Douglas County is embarking on critical repairs between Stonegate Parkway and Keystone Boulevard, where a storm sewer pipe that dates back to 1984 is set for replacement due to significant deterioration, as per Douglas County.
The project, which kicks off with a westbound lane closure, will introduce traffic impacts as crews commence preconstruction work; meanwhile, motorists will experience traffic shifts and will navigate single-lane travel through the work zone beginning the following week, which is a surefire recipe for travel slowdowns between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. In light of these changes, drivers are encouraged to plan for delays and remain vigilant for updated traffic patterns, as noted on the Lincoln Avenue Storm Sewer Replacement Project (Phase II), obtained by Douglas County.
Completion of the project is on the horizon with an early August end date; however, this is contingent on favorable weather permitting the work to proceed uninterrupted. Residents keen to stay abreast of the county's various roadworks can subscribe to Douglas County’s Cone Zone email updates, or for current road conditions statewide, Cotrip.org provides updates.
