
A semi-truck accident caused a long traffic delay on northbound US-131 in Grand Rapids on Saturday. The crash happened in the S curves near Market when the truck jackknifed on the wet road and caused a fuel leak.
The Michigan State Police Grand Rapids post responded to the scene. Traffic was reduced to a single shoulder to let vehicles pass. Drivers were advised to use a different route to avoid delays. Cleanup from the accident was expected to take a long time, as reported by WZZM13.
According to the MSP Sixth District on their X account, a semi jackknifed after losing control on a slick road, causing fuel to spill on the highway. Cleanup efforts were underway to remove the fuel and ensure the area was safe. Traffic was limited to the shoulder, and normal flow was expected to resume once the road was cleared. Updates were to be posted on the @MSPWestMI channel.
