Residents of Jefferson County might notice a buzzing in the sky on Monday, July 14, but there's no cause for alarm. According to Jefferson County, the county will be conducting an aerial survey utilizing a drone, or an Unmanned Aircraft System, as part of its routine property assessments.
The operation is scheduled to take place between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. and aims to collect data over the Road and Bridge Pine Pit Property. Officials have made it clear that these drone flights are standard procedure and are not expected to disrupt local traffic, as there are no planned road closures associated with this flight.
Drones, which have become an essential tool in modern surveying, offer detailed aerial imagery and allow for efficient data collection over difficult terrain. The information gathered from the drone flight will help the county with its infrastructure management and environmental monitoring of the area.
